Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national association with 75 chapters representing 23,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms with nearly two million employees. ABC's membership represents all specialties within the U.S. construction industry and is comprised primarily of firms that perform work in the industrial and commercial sectors of the industry.

The mission statement of the Building Congress & Exchange of Metropolitan is to foster interaction among its members for the exchange of ideas and information, for the improvement of the construction industry and for the education of and service to our members and to the community. The Building Congress & Exchange is today, as it has been for more than 100 years, a team of devoted volunteers representing a cross-section of the construction industry. Since the first meeting in May 1888, the Building Congress & Exchange has weathered many changes in the economic climate. As the "umbrella association," our membership includes architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, interior designers, as well as developers, insurance representatives, financial institutions, bonding companies, legal advisors, and other allied industry groups. The strength of the Building Congress & Exchange is the active involvement and diversity of its members.
