Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national association with 75 chapters representing 23,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms with nearly two million employees. ABC’s membership represents all specialties within the U.S. construction industry and is comprised primarily of firms that perform work in the industrial and commercial sectors of the industry.
IEC is a trade association representing 3,000 electrical contractors in 60 chapters across the U. S. The I.E.C. Chesapeake has more than 150 members throughout Delaware, Maryland, Northern Virginia, Pennsylvania, Upper North Carolina, and Washington, DC.

The Building Congress & Exchange fosters interaction among its members for the exchange of ideas and information, for the improvement of the construction industry, and for the education of and service to our members and to the community. The Building Congress & Exchange is a team of devoted volunteers representing a cross-section of the construction industry.
Since the first meeting in May 1888, the Building Congress & Exchange has weathered many changes in the economic climate. As the “umbrella association,” our membership includes architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, interior designers, as well as developers, insurance representatives, financial institutions, bonding companies, legal advisors, and other allied industry groups. The strength of the Building Congress & Exchange is the active involvement and diversity of its members.
The Design and Construction Network (DCN) is a group of over 13,000 industry leaders that are serious about building real business relationships. The DCN connects with others in the local industry, discusses and shares information, helps each other succeed, and hosts networking events.
