What is the Skillforce Test Drive?

The Skillforce Test Drive is an industry-leading 16-hour guarantee, enabling our clients to evaluate our company first hand, with little risk. We guarantee that every Skillforce employee will meet or exceed expectations. If we ever need to replace a field employee at any time during that initial 16-hour period, there is no charge to the client.

What do you cover in my bill rate?

You bill rate covers payroll, payroll taxes, unemployment insurance and worker’s compensation. All of our employees are full time, W-2 employees (we do not hire independent contractors, nor 1099 employees). You simply pay the hourly bill rate and we cover all employee-related expenses.

How do you determine a bill rate for each craftsmen?

Bill rates are based upon how much we are paying the employee.

How much lead time do you need?

We can fill most orders with 24 – 48 hours.

What is the cost to be registered with Skillforce?

There is no cost to get your company registered with Skillforce. Our service agreement and credit application are simple forms that can usually be completed in minutes. Once we have your paperwork, you are under no obligation to use Skillforce, it simply allows you to pick up the phone and place a work order with us.

Does Skillforce perform certified payroll?

Yes. We provide certified payroll and make electronic submissions when required.

What is Skillforce looking for in a potential employee?

We look for individuals with experience and the ability to produce both quantity and, more importantly, quality workmanship. All employees must have their own tools and transportation; however, we do have a tool purchase program.

What benefits do you have?

All of our employees are W-2 employees and receive a full benefits package including healthcare, vision/dental, 401K, paid holidays, paid vacation, apprenticeship training, and a tool purchase program.

How much do you pay?

Skillforce pays its field employees commensurate with their experience.

Does Skillforce sponsor OSHA training?

Yes, Skillforce sponsors OSHA training.

Does Skillforce sponsor apprenticeship training?

Yes. We are active members of ABC and IEC and can sponsor individuals in their apprenticeship programs.

Does Skillforce offer Direct Deposit?

Yes. We also provide an optional debit card to our employees so they can withdrawal their money from any ATM machine in the world.

How long can I keep a worker?

Skillforce provides skilled trade labor to contractors on an as-needed basis. Whether you need someone for 1 day or 1 year, we can provide you the staffing solutions you need.

Do you drug test your workers?

All Skillforce employees are subject to random pre-employment drug screening. In addition, if you require current drug testing prior to our employee being dispatched to your project, we can arrange for it.

Who do I call if I need additional workers or need to release a worker?

As a Skillforce client, you will be assigned an account representative that will handle all of your needs. Regardless of your needs or where your project is located, your account representative will handle all of your requests.

Who do I call if I have another job in another area/city?

Your assigned Skillforce representative will be your point of contact for all your needs, no matter your location or question.

Do I have the ability to transfer employees within your company?

Skillforce field employees are able to transfer within any of our branches.

Where do you find your people?

We maintain a database of every employee who has ever worked for us, interviewed to work with us, or even responded to a recruitment ad. To date, we have over 500,000 individuals in our database – all individually interviewed and screened. In addition, we are constantly recruiting the best and brightest talent the industry has to offer.
